Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Husayni al-Sistani

Biography — Based in the seminary of Najaf, Iraq, and followed by millions of believers worldwide as their marja' al-taqlid. He is widely known for his emphasis on justice, restraint, education and peaceful coexistence, and for encouraging Muslims living in the West to be active, trustworthy and law-abiding members of wider society.

Guidance — Rulings on worship, family life, transactions, contemporary issues and religious dues, conveyed through his office and authorised representatives.

Representation — Idarah-e-Jafaria of Marjaiyah operates under the supervision of the Representative of Marjaiyah and conveys his guidance to the community in Australia.

Biography — Believers follow the marja' of their choosing. Our office assists in obtaining authentic rulings and clarifications from the office of the relevant Marja rather than substituting one authority for another.

Guidance — Enquiries are directed to the respective office so that the answer received matches the believer's own taqlid.
